I’ve been stuck for some time on the death, or the absence of information regarding the death of Levi Wells. I’m currently scanning through Georgia death certificates. I’ve reviewed so many in one setting that I felt like my eyes were crossing up, and there’s still hundreds of thousands that still need to be viewed.

A few possibilities have crossed my mind: the possibility that there is no death certificate for him; the possibility that he died at home, and the family just put him in the ground; the possibility that there IS a death certificate, but could be unreadable.

I’m going to continue reviewing all of the available death certificates with the hope that something will turn up.
